Does Your Child Have Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder?

An estimated 3 percent to 5 percent of children have attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Research suggests that early diagnosis and intervention can go a long way toward improving these children's academic performance, socialization skills, self-esteem and success later in life. The following screening assessment is designed to help you decide whether your child may have a tendency toward ADHD. If you are concerned, it is important to consult a school psychologist or pediatrician who is qualified to make a definitive diagnosis and rule out other possible causes of ADHD-like behavior.
